On AMP6 projects, pre-site design used a combination of Collaboration for Revit (C4R), Microsoft SharePoint, and AutoDesk BIM 360 Glue.  In AMP7 projects the next-gen AutoDesk BIM360 Docs suite is being used, unifying the production and collaboration of all project material.  The new software offers multiple benefits and efficiencies.

A common project home page can be customised to display plug-in applications such as live site cameras, federated models, or key analytic graphics on issues and approval workflows.  The suite features a simple folder structure with customisable permissions and workflows.  The project can be accessed online from a web browser or directly with native authoring software using a Desktop Connector tool.  This speeds local working whilst ensuring a collaborative feedback to the common data environment.

Aiding collaboration and record keeping, each project has a common issue register where issues can be generated by any project team member on any pdf or model/drawing. 3D models can be viewed and marked-up and issues raised through a simple web browser, and co-ordination and clash detection of multiple models can be completed automatically through a dedicated model co-ordination module.

The fact every member of the project can use Pdf mark-up and issue functionality allows continual improvement, fed into the common issues register for the project.  To aid reviews, the suite contains powerful comparison and measurement tools that can be used to accurately overlay pdfs and enable calibrated measuring and take-off of any as-built and historic drawings.  Easily customisable review workflows can be set to automatically approve and copy across items to specified areas for wider circulation, and a follow up transmittal function used to externally issue can then be used to provide a full log and actively accessible record of the items issued.
